The sock that set an elf free
Dobby the house-elf served the Malfoy family until Harry freed him. At the end of his second year, Harry hid a sock inside Tom Riddle's diary and handed the diary to Lucius Malfoy. Lucius flung the sock away in anger, Dobby caught it - and because a house-elf who is given clothes by his master is free, Dobby became a free elf. From then on he made his own choices, and he chose to keep helping Harry even though no one forced him to.
The socks in the set tell this story across three pairs. The grey pair shows Dobby holding a sock with the words “Dobby is free”, the light blue pair recalls the pudding Dobby dropped on the Dursleys' guests, and the green pair carries the line “Dobby has come to save Harry Potter and his friends” from his rescue at Malfoy Manor. They are made by the French brand Cinereplicas in a universal EU 35 - 45 size, so they fit both women and men.
What's inside the trunk
- Dobby socks, set of 3 pairs - unisex, EU 35 - 45, mid-height, 98% polyester, 2% elastane
- Dobby pen - grey, metal, black ink, Dobby charm of about 15 mm
- Rubber Dobby keychain - Chibi style, key ring and carabiner
- Small Hogwarts trunk - with a bow, 23 × 14 × 5 cm
The pen by the British company The Carat Shop has a little Dobby hanging from its end, so you can spot it at a glance in a full pencil case and it will come out for every piece of homework. The keychain by Pyramid shows Dobby in Chibi style, with a big head and a small body, and because it is made of rubber it will not scratch or break like a metal charm. Thanks to the carabiner it clips onto keys, a backpack or a handbag.
A loyal friend to the very end
Dobby first appeared in Harry's bedroom in the summer before his second year, trying to warn him not to go back to Hogwarts. He did it in his own way, so the Dursleys' dinner party ended with a smashed pudding and Harry locked in his room. Years later, though, he rushed into the cellar of Malfoy Manor and saved Harry and his friends. That is why fans never forget him, and the sock is his best-known symbol.
The set is a ready-made gift for birthdays, Christmas, the end of the school year or just because: the socks, pen and keychain will be worn and used every day, and the trunk with its bow can keep holding small treasures. If you would like to add a few personal words, write them in the order note and, for an extra charge, we will include them in an envelope sealed with wax. The message is also available as a separate product.
