Who you will find here
- Dobby — the house-elf Harry freed with a sock, in 16, 25, 30 and 32 cm versions, most of them holding the sock.
- Hedwig — Harry’s snowy owl, including a 30 cm version with wings that open out.
- The Mandrake — an interactive plush that screams when lifted from its pot, from The Noble Collection.
- The Sorting Hat — a talking cushion that delivers its lines aloud.
- The Golden Snitch — as a soft plush ball.
- Plush keychains — Dobby, Hedwig and Draco Malfoy in miniature, for a bag or a school rucksack.
Choosing a size
Size decides how a plush toy is actually used, more than the character does. The smallest versions go on a bag; the mid sizes sit on a shelf or travel in a suitcase; the big ones are what children sleep with.
- Keychain size — clips to a rucksack, and the usual first Harry Potter gift for a younger child.
- 16 to 25 cm — fits in a bag, good for travel.
- 30 to 32 cm — the size a child will sleep with and carry around.
- Interactive — the Mandrake and the Sorting Hat, bought for the effect as much as the toy.
Age rating and safety
Most plush figures are rated from birth (0+) and carry CE certification and the EN 71 safety standard. Interactive items with electronics and plush with small detachable parts carry a higher age rating, which the product page states. Keep packaging away from children.
Materials and washing
The plush used here is soft polyester fibre, pleasant to the touch and durable in normal use. Items with a sound or speech element should be surface cleaned with a damp cloth so the mechanism stays dry; plush without electronics can usually be washed gently, and the care label on each item is the final word. Let plush dry naturally rather than on a radiator, which flattens the pile.
