The Tale of the Three Brothers
In The Tale of the Three Brothers, told in The Tales of Beedle the Bard, three wizarding brothers meet Death himself on the road. To repay them for escaping the trap he had set, he gives each of them a powerful object: to the eldest an unbeatable wand of elder, to the second a stone able to call back the dead, and to the youngest a cloak that hides its wearer from anyone at all - including Death.
